The Industrial Engineer is responsible for partnering within each BRS function (Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT, etc.) and internal/external stakeholders to engage as a team and ensure a timely handover of critical tasks.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a culture of continuous process improvement across Bunzl Retail Services (BRS) logistics’ network warehouses. Work with internal/external teams to manage the lifecycle of projects and act as owner in delivering project objectives and targets. Partner with internal teams, stakeholders and external vendors to set project priorities, and drive schedules to meet deadlines. Proactively assess stakeholders’ dependencies and milestones, problem-solve and drive solutions to mitigate impact from the issues. Simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks and provide feedback while resolving difficult system problems or technical deficiencies. Partner with leader on identifying solution and sustain new technology investments and material handling equipment appropriate to optimize warehouse network and support business growth. Improve process efficiency throughout the organization, including simplification, standardization, implementation and sustainability. Promptly and accurately communicate project status and identify risks. Produce concise summaries for the project to leadership/management team. Partner with and provide proactive support to colleagues within Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT, Contractors, etc. to maximize profitability, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Eliminate waste in current processes to improve operations productivity and efficiency; lead initiatives to drive efficiencies.Requirements:
BS degree required, in the following areas of study: STEM with Industrial/Systems Engineering preferred. Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in an engineering position related to supporting and improving warehouse and distribution operations. Green Belt certification in Lean, Black Belt a plus. Ability to successfully interface with all levels and areas of the organization and provide clear and concise project summaries. Familiarity with WMS, WLM, WCS and sortation controls systems Travel up to 50% in support of leading change across the warehouse network. Effectively communicate both orally and in written form with management, internal and external customers.Software Skills:
Proficient in WMS. Korber/HighJump 1 is a Plus. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Visio and Smartsheet programs. Experience with AutoCAD Software Knowledge of programming language skills such as SQL is a plus.Salary range, depending upon experience, education, skills and location is $90K - $110K annual.
