Responsibilities
**Plant Layout Design:** Develop and optimize plant layouts to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Ensure efficient use of space and resources.
**Time Studies:** Conduct time and motion studies to analyze work processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements. Establish standard times for tasks and processes.
**Efficiency Improvement:** Implement strategies to increase human efficiency and productivity. Develop and apply methods to streamline operations and reduce cycle times.
**Data Analysis:** Collect and analyze data on production processes, equipment performance, and labor utilization. Use statistical tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.
**Process Optimization:** Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements. Ensure changes are sustainable and aligned with company goals.
**Training and Development:** Provide training to staff on new processes and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable work experience of three (3) to five (5) years in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in aerospace.Advanced understanding of risk analysis techniques, including PFMEA.Understanding of machining and inspection processes with proven ability to implement and sustain statistical process controls.Knowledge of AS9100 and AS13100 Quality Standard requirements.Familiarity with 14CFR Part 21 and Part 145 requirements (preferred).Proven ability in written communication, including technical writing and presentations.Experience with Microsoft Office products.Experience with ERP and MES products, with IFS and/or Solumina preferred.Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsQuality systems experience/inspection/audits.Prefer aerospace industry experience.Knowledge and familiarity with FAA regulations.Work EnvironmentThis position is based onsite at the manufacturing/assembly plant in Burlington, NC, within a climate-controlled office environment. The role may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, and safety shoes are necessary. Some travel is expected for supplier audits (3-5 trips per year).
