Job Description
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for creating standard work instructions for all processes within the plant.
The role involves splitting time between the office and the plant floor to learn processes before creating detailed work instructions (including; pictures, descriptions, key safety points, and quality points for production workers).
Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal forms is crucial, as the work instructions will be used by many people.
Once completed, the instructions will be approved by the design, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams. The Industrial Engineer will also help train production teams and ensure adherence to standards.
ResponsibilitiesCreate standard work instructions for various processes within the plant.Split time between the office and the plant floor to understand processes.Take pictures and document steps, safety points, and quality points.Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms.Obtain approvals from design, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams.Train production teams alongside key employees.Develop work instructions for processes such as forming, rolling materials, cutting, press brakes, welding, abrasive shot blasting, mechanical operations, pressurizing tanks, spray applications, painting, and spray foaming.Shift responsibilities to lean 5S activities, coordinate kaizen events, lead kaizen teams, and document findings once work instructions and training are completed.Must Have Qualifications Experience creating standard work instructions with added graphics.Engineering Degree.Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment with a technical understanding of processes and ergonomics.Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.Lean Manufacturing experience, including 5S and kaizen.Nice to have Skills 5S experience.Kaizen experience.Work Environment
This manufacturer fabricates custom and standard pressure vessels, hot water generators, process tanks, and storage tanks.
The facility operates with about 60 employees40-45 hours a week with Union Shop employees, though this position is not part of the UnionNegotiable PTO Rapidly growing company - gain exposure to many different manufacturing processes Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27
