The Role
The Industrial Engineering organization plays a vital role in supporting our Manufacturing team in achieving SPQRC metric targets. Our Industrial Engineers focus on eliminating waste in time, money, materials, person-hours, machine time, energy, and other resources that do not add value. We serve as integrators of people and systems, collaborating with all functions within the manufacturing plant, including Quality, Labor Relations, Finance, and Supply Chain.
Our Industrial Engineers are instrumental in planning, implementing, and supporting Continuous Improvement activities. They do this by understanding and quantifying needs, facilitating and implementing changes, and verifying results.
What You'll Do
Design and implement workstations and layouts that adhere to ergonomic and safety guidelines, ensuring a comfortable and safe working environment for all employees.Develop and enhance standardized work processes and line balancing for both direct and indirect labor, promoting efficiency and inclusivity in our operations.Identify and implement initiatives aimed at improving throughput, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.Design, document, and promote Lean Manufacturing systems that support efficiency and sustainability.Create, build, and validate packaging and material movement solutions that optimize productivity and accommodate diverse material needs.Establish and maintain comprehensive packaging documentation for both supplier and finished goods dunnage, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.Conduct capacity planning and cost analyses to support informed decision-making and resource allocation.Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment is critical to your success at General Motors
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with Simulation Software, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Team Center and SAP
High level of proficiency in Excel
Ability to lead multiple assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
Knowledge and experience practicing Lean Manufacturing Systems and Strategies

Compensation
The expected base compensation for this role is: $75,000.00 - $119,800.00 USD Annual. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
