Job Summary
Responsible for Distribution Center (DC) layout and design, process improvement, data analysis and, network design and optimization. Implements new processes, evaluates existing processes, and recommends optimal solutions and improvements.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Interfaces with Real Estate and Construction and Material Handling Vendors to design distribution center layout.
Works with IT and Purchasing to obtain necessary information to build and run optimization scenarios.
Analyzes scenario results, summarizes and presents outcomes to leadership.
Develops detailed business cases, cost assessments, benefits, and risk analysis. Uses quantitative analysis methodology to perform data, cost and benefit, and/or process measurement analysis.
Conducts root cause analysis using knowledge of applications, interfaces, and technology for defect resolution to identify process breakdowns.
Coordinates project tasks and project life cycle phases for small to mid-size projects (i.e. defining requirements, documentation, and process flows, etc.) to meet customer goals and requirements.
Implements and tracks projects.
Researches industry trends for application of process improvement techniques and best practices.
Nature and Scope
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Experience with AutoCAD and optimization modeling experience preferred.Possesses ability to evaluate work processes and optimize space and equipment to optimize safety, quality and productivity.
Hybrid, Remote, and In Person Opportunities Available Based on Location. Eligible candidates residing in the greater Atlanta area will be asked to work 2x a week in our new Headquarters.
May require up to 50% travel.
