Job Description

Job is located in Claremont, New Hampshire

Responsible for review and creation of the production plan for all fabrication and coating performed at Claremont location. Work with the Director of Operations, Director of Fabrication, production support team, and the manufacturing associates to create the optimal work process and to continuously improve the process through exploration of new techniques, equipment, and training of the staff.

Essential Functions

Work under the direction of the Director of Fabrication to build production layouts.Design production layouts to improve productivity, reduce wastefulness, and cut costs.Monitor the overall operations and recommend improvements through new production designs.Compile and maintain equipment and material lists, cost analyses, production cost estimates, and purchase orders necessary for production projects.Develop quality manufacturing plans for all projects. This includes fabrication procedures, welding procedures, and coating procedures. Provide technical support in estimating and pre-construction.Review new projects during pre-award phase to aid in the kick-off to operations to create manufacturing processes.Work with the work force to determine the required training and best practices for all manufacturing tasks. Reinforce quality culture in our process by working with our quality control and production department.Assist other employees in the performance of their duties as necessary.Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.Work with cross-functional team members to implement a world-class manufacturing process.Stay abreast of developments and trends in manufacturing for application in plant, recommend changes in policies and procedures as appropriate.Represent the organization in the community and promote the goodwill and interests of the organization throughout the community.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Three (3) years or more experience in steel manufacturing is preferred.Ability to work independently without direct supervision and as a team member.Lift up to 60 lb.Read and speak English.In-depth understanding of steel fabrication and quality inspection.Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to production or productivity problems.

Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

Routine exposure to steel fabrication and coating environment and occasional outside weather conditions, excessive noise levels and is regularly exposed to vibration.  Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
