To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add an Industrial Engineering Intern located in our Salt Lake City, Utah site.
Reporting to the Business Excellence Manager, the student will will work on capacity and workload studies, process improvement projects and operational metrics management in support of operations.
What a typical day looks like:
Support the evaluation and identification of process improvement opportunities on all manufacturing related activities in our operation through time studyWork on Kaizen Projects guided by an Industrial Engineer, applying Lean techniques focusing on cost reduction initiatives by reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the processSupport Kaizen teams to measure and validate results from improvement projectsHelp to develop management control systems to aid in Kaizen to Business Needs planningAttend team meetings to support project work as neededStudent qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:
Senior level student pursuing degree in Industrial Engineering or related majorBasic Lean Manufacturing knowledgeMicrosoft Office suiteEnthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environmentStrong verbal, presentation and written communication skills along with organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, high energy and strong time management skillsDemonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in teams and collaborate with othersAbility to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environmentPrevious internship experience in manufacturing a plus!Internship Program Requirements:
Available to start on May 27th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignmentCurrently enrolled in 4-year accredited university3.0 minimum GPAWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:
