Industrial Estimator
Location: Washington or Oregon preferred (with ability to travel to Corvallis and Vancouver) Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: 90.000 -140,000 DOE Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability, 401K with contribution and immediate vesting, PTO, and paid holidays.  GENERAL SUMMARY The Industrial Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial construction projects, with a focus on equipment installation, piping (installation/testing), and structural fabrication/installation. The ideal candidate will have experience in either field or fabrication shop settings and a strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding, NDT, and inspection processes. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure complete and precise cost assessments. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: + Review blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine scope and cost requirements. + Develop and submit detailed cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Assist in the solicitation of bids from vendors and subcontractors. + Evaluate pricing for materials, labor, and subcontractor costs to ensure competitive project proposals. + Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to refine estimates. + Identify potential cost-saving measures through alternate methods and value engineering. + Assist in the inspection process related to steel fabrication and NDT requirements. + Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions, collect data, and refine cost projections. + Maintain accurate records of estimates, bid proposals, and project documents. + Ensure estimates comply with company policies, industry standards, and contractual requirements. + Participate in client and vendor negotiations, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding of project scope and expectations. + Support business development efforts by providing pricing insights and bid strategies. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: + Experience in either field or shop within industrial construction. + Familiarity with steel fabrication, welding techniques, NDT, and inspection requirements. + Working knowledge of industrial construction disciplines, including: + Equipment: Receiving, installation + Piping Systems: Installation, testing + Structural: Fabrication, installation, inspection + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and estimating software. + Exposure to BIM model software (SolidWorks, Navisworks, Compress, Strumis, etc.) is a plus. + Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and interpret technical data. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. + Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously. + Willingness to travel as needed for site evaluations. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). + 5+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction. + Field/shop experience is required. + Familiarity with craft jurisdiction and trade coordination.   Powered by JazzHR
