Miller Brother Staffing is looking for Heavy Plate and Structural Steel Fitter for a company based in New Castle Pa. 

Position: Heavy Plate/Structural Steel Fitter

Pay: $22.00

Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

Summary:

The Fitter is responsible for laying out and fitting materials, then tacking the materials together to produce a finished product.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches Understand and use weld symbols Lead a fitter helper

NECESSARY SKILLS

Must have experience with flux-core welding Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Must know how to use basic hand tools Must possess a knowledge of basic math skills Must be detail oriented Must work well with others Must have the ability to multi-task and change direction as needed Must be able to safely operate overhead cranes Must be able to identify and address problems Must be willing to work overtime and weekends

PREFERRED SKILLS

Experience with heavy plate and structural fitting Knowledge of basic trig and geometry Experience with heat straightening or curving of steel Certified welder

EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS REQUIRED

Ability to pass drug test Possession of a valid driver’s license Must hold a high school diploma or G.E.D.

5+ years experience in a heavy fabrication and structural fitting setting
