Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist to support a variety of industrial hygiene and safety tasks at Sandia National Labs in Livermore, California. This role requires hands-on experience with industrial hygiene sampling, hazard assessments, and a strong understanding of OSHA standards, specifically 29 CFR 1910. The ideal candidate will bring a balanced background in safety program implementation and industrial hygiene support across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct industrial hygiene (IH) sampling for noise, air contaminants, and chemical exposure using appropriate equipment and methodologies. Analyze sampling results and recommend mitigation measures as needed.
Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs, including machine guarding, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Perform compliance inspections, safety audits, and field assessments for various workplace hazards. Document findings, corrective actions, and recommendations in comprehensive reports.
Provide safety training sessions to personnel on topics such as hazard communication, PPE use, and workplace safety best practices. Ensure employee engagement and compliance with training initiatives.
Collaborate with team members to address ad hoc safety and health concerns while ensuring compliance with 29 CFR 1910 and Sandia National Labs policies.
Maintain organized records of IH sampling results, compliance inspections, and corrective action plans to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and internal safety goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial hygiene and safety, including IH sampling and hazard mitigation.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and experience with NFPA 70E compliance.
Demonstrated ability to conduct hazard assessments and implement safety controls in diverse workplace environments.
Proficiency with safety engineering principles and exposure sampling techniques, including noise monitoring, air sampling, and chemical hazard assessments.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred certifications: OSHA 30, CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or other relevant safety certifications.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with data analysis and reporting for IH sampling.
Familiarity with pressure safety programs and associated hazard controls.
Ability to train and engage employees on safety procedures and IH protocols effectively.
