JOB FUNCTION/ PURPOSE
The Maintenance Mechanic plans, maintains, and repairs a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment and control instrumentation at a recently commissioned 3 MGD MBR wastewater treatment facility, a 12 MGD surface water facility, two offsite booster pump stations and a new sewer lift station in Mountain House California; develops and implements a preventative maintenance plan for all equipment; operates and maintains a variety of hand, power, and shop tools; performs related work as assigned.
Candidates must have experience with pump, motors, PLC and Wastewater/Water.
Salary range - $38 -$41/hr. depending on level of experience.
CWEA Maintenance Technologist I is preferred and will be require within one year of employment.
Example of Duties
Plans maintenance, repair and special installation projects and preventive maintenance programs.Inspects and diagnoses problems and performs repairs to pumps, motors, valves, piping, chemical feeders and other mechanical components common to a water/wastewater treatment plant.Inspects, tests and diagnoses problems and performs repairs to electrical circuits and appurtenances as well as electronic processing and control instrumentation.Develops and implements a preventative maintenance schedule for mechanical and electrical equipment and instrumentation to ensure reliable, safe and cost-effective operation. Determines when repairs require the services of maintenance contractors; inspects contract work after completion to ensure compliance with industry specifications and standards.Performs maintenance painting and minor repair to facilities and structures, piping and machinery.Performs grounds maintenance and general custodial work to keep the plant and grounds in a clean and orderly condition.QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years (maint water/wastewater) IT PLC, pumps, motors
High school diploma or equivalent and 5-year related experiences and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)PHYSICAL DEMANDS
