Position includes hands-on trouble shooting and/or repair of plant utility equipment and facility including the installation, modification and repair of structures, utility equipment, fixtures, etc., from an electrical, electronic and mechanical nature. Candidate should have a strong understanding on boiler, chiller, air compressor, and Building Management systems and maintenance. Candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work directly with outside contractors on problem soliving issues and scheduling. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Accomplish assigned tasks in the safest, most effective and efficient manner possible. + Troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment related maintenance issues to ensure that our utilities support production processes are running with the predetermined control parameters. + Work from blueprints, schematic drawings, verbal instructions, handbooks and manuals as necessary to perform maintenance on equipment. + Carryout preventative measures and look for alternative solutions to maintenance problems encountered. + Perform all required preventative maintenance work on assigned equipment. + Prepare and maintain all documentation, recording all repairs; including changes and modifications made to our plant equipment. + Maintain and promote a safe and clean work environment throughout the maintenance department. + Instruct, train, guide and assist other maintenance personnel as needed. + Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs. + Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules. + Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance. + Perform all assigned tasks by manager. **Education** + High School Diploma Must have High School Diploma or GED required **Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Minimum of 3-years of plant utility operations including boiler, chiller, HVAC and building automation, 3-5 years preferred. + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schedules, diagrams and procedure manuals. + Ability to multi-task as needed to ensure plant operation needs are met. **Travel Requirements** 5%: Up to 13 business days per year **Physical & Mental Requirements** + Frequent bilateral grip/grasp and manual dexterity work required + Frequent bending and twisting, squatting, pushing and pulling and working at elevated heights and in confided spaces as required by the job + Must be able to tolerate industrial odors, heat and high temperatures, and smells on a frequent basis + Must be able to lift weights of at least 50 pounds (unassisted) + Must be able to wear and use a full-face respirator + Stand and walk for 12 hours per shift + Willing to work overtime as needed or after hours West is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
