THE DAY TO DAY…
Develop and maintain laser nests using Trumpf software
Support sheet metal fabrication in laser and forming areas
Comprehend capacity requirements and formalize processes to achieve the required demand
Manage layout and process flow
Work with engineering to ensure design for manufacturability and while pursuing process improvements
Work closely with the Tool and Die department for engineering process fixturing
Create and maintain programming for fabrication equipment
Support all functions centric to and interacting with the finishing system
Comprehend capacity requirements and formalize processes to achieve the required demand
Manage layout and process flow
Analyze needed tooling and process steps for all engineering changes and new products
Study existing process and designs to improve efficiency (a new tool, change to a build order, adding or deleting a task or step)
Coordinate Process Trials on any changed or new product that has a process as part of its launch
Interpret data from quality reports to determine needed actions to operations
Research new processes and investigate new ways to do tasks, research out how other companies process similar parts to find the best solution
Work with NPD Engineering and Operations to recommend best practice procedures and techniques in producing parts or products
THE QUALIFICATIONS…
Familiarity with offline nesting and programming software
CWI certification or open to obtaining certification
Familiarity with Miller Panasonic Robotic welding processes and equipment
Experience with Brake press and laser machine operations and troubleshooting
Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing role
Demonstrate ability to lead and implement continuous improvement projects in order to achieve value stream goals
Solid Works or equivalent CAD experience preferred
Must demonstrate attention to detail and be able to integrate new and old equipment designs and layouts
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, CAD drawings, and legal documents
Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
Ability to effectively present information to employees, management, and/or public groups
Ability to define problems; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, or drawing form; and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
