**Job Description Summary**
Industrial Painter is responsible for ensuring that all parts are brushed/sprayed to a consistently high quality in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities will include the identification and discarding of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and person protective equipment.
The Industrial Painter is responsible for tending to and operating machines that spray/coat products with paint, and machines that bring a quality finish to the product. Other duties may be assigned as needed; Perform work tasks assigned, works with all other maintenance mechanics when required and complete tasks in a timely manner and to skill set standards. Assist management in improving processes and procedures in performing corrective and preventative maintenance. Assist in evaluating the needs of all scheduled and non-scheduled work requests and special projects.
**Job Description**
**Essential Functions:**
Select appropriate paint or mix paints, per manufacturing requirements and to a pre-determined formula. Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, or otherwise prepare items for application of paint. Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items. Paint small items and apply touch-ups. Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment. Mark, record and report defects Clean and perform preparation of work-site. Completes required job control, inventory and related reports (example: timecards) Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner. Maintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplace Identify and document potential environmental and safety problems to Supervisor. Maintain product quality Operate various types of machinery as required Knowledge of chemical application techniques. 3 years of experience as an Industrial Painter. Experience using a spray gun and using brushes in a highly detailed manner. Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner Ability to read schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams Ability to work independently and complete daily activities per work schedule. Ability to lift objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor. Work with other trade skill sets to complete work orders to trade standards and customer expectations. Willing to continue both formal and informal training in the present skill set to maintain the knowledge of the present and latest technologies.
**Additional Functions:**
Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and other equipment necessary to perform the job. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Perform other duties as assigned within a team-oriented environment. Willing to work overtime as needed
**Operating Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities**
**Training & Education Requirements:**
High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience. Ability to plan and organize work Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Maintain knowledge in the latest equipment and technologies Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, math ability and a positive attitude
**Experience Requirements:**
Minimum three (3) years experience as an Industrial Painter in a commercial / industrial facility
**Other Qualifications & Physical Requirements:**
Must pass a criminal background check, physical exam, and drug screen.
Must be capable to ascend/descent ladders and stairs for completing daily tasks.
Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted.
