Industrial Progress Engineer

Michelin North America (Canada) Inc., which employs over 3,600 people and operates three tire manufacturing facilities in Nova Scotia, is seeking an Industrial Progress Engineer to join our Granton Progress Team. The successful candidate will lead and develop the continuous improvement strategy, in both efficiency and cost reduction projects, in areas that range from specific work posts to corporate systems.
Job responsibilities include:
applying Industrial Engineering techniques and Lean concepts with the intent of improving process flows, reducing operational expenses, and improving productivity;analyzing and challenging existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facility, making recommendations, and working with the operational teams to integrate solutions;providing guidance and support to operational management by identifying progress opportunities, supporting the Michelin Manufacturing Way, and helping to develop the site annual business plan and progress plan;developing, implementing and improving manufacturing processes, tools, equipment and work activities, to meet and exceed the site's safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives; and,participation in facility personnel planning, productivity planning, machine capacity analysis, process efficiency analysis, project management, expansion needs analysis, material flow analysis, developing and maintaining engineered time standards, value stream mapping, process flow and line balancing.Requirements for this position include:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or an equivalent technical diploma;experience in Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, PDCA, Bottleneck Management, Value Stream Mapping, etc), and SixSigma Certifications;exposure to digitalization (Industry 4.0) and proficiency with tools such as Office BI Apps, OsiSoft PI, Raspberry Pi, etc; and,extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.
Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues. Both written and verbal communication skills are crucial, including the ability to develop positive relationships with internal plant customers.
