Industrial Project Scheduler (100% Travel)

Southern Industrial is looking for a Scheduler to work for our Raleigh, NC office on projects throughout the US. 100% travel is required.

Creates and manages critical path method schedules for large and complex industrial construction projects.  Duties include, but are not limited to, leading project teams in creation of bid and baseline schedules, managing schedule updates throughout the execution of projects, identifying critical path to key project milestones, and assisting project team with execution strategy as it relates to the project schedule.

Essential Functions / Duties:

Plan future work to reflect SIC’s execution plan and maximize workforce productivity. Develop and update schedules based on project documents, input from the project team, and/or inspection of project site. Understand cost estimating and productivity principles to validate the project schedule. Perform critical path analyses and identify schedule-related problems, recommend corrective actions as needed. Develop tracking metrics and benchmarks to support the project. Conduct project site walks to validate progress and prepare monthly and weekly reporting packages for project site team as needed. Create project specific WBS and Activity Codes. Review contractor and subcontractor progress and present to management for decision-making. Communicate project status and challenges effectively. Amend project schedule as needed to reflect changes in scope, evaluate changes in scope for impact to project schedule, and communicate changes and impacts to project team. Participate in project meetings as required. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in project scheduling and cost engineering. Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and MS Project. Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills. Strong understanding of scheduling, cost engineering, and delay impact analysis. Knowledge of MEP construction sequencing, means, and methods. Comprehends construction documents (drawings, specifications, contracts/general conditions) at all levels of design. Familiar with CPM scheduling practices. Able to build and maintain a schedule using the CPM. Has the ability to read and interpret RFPs and RFIs. Familiar with the contractual clauses as it applies to scheduling. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
