The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

The Industry and Security Analysis Group (ISAG) provides analytical, technical, and program support to promote, grow, and protect the U.S. industrial base. ISAG’s support spans the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Commerce, and other agencies to deliver critical decision support to national security leaders. Our team informs policy decisions, enables execution of comprehensive strategies and monitors and reports on the effectiveness of implementation. This enables senior leaders to execute strategies for developing and sustaining a robust industrial base that meets our nation’s strategic resource objectives. From policy to practice, we are a team of economic and national security professionals providing innovative solutions for our Nation’s most pressing security challenges.

 

We have an upcoming need for an Industrial Security Analyst Intern to provide onsite support out of Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities

The Industry Security Analyst Intern will enhance America’s national security by supporting USG programs that grow and protect the Nation’s industrial base and global economic interests. In close coordination with ISAG’s Business Intelligence and Economic Security teams, you will provide business intelligence, economic analysis, and market assessments of the industrial base. In this role you will connect large diverse data sources from government, commercial, and open sources to empower decisions that ensure robust, innovative, affordable, and technologically superior industrial capabilities today and in the future.   

Timeline for intern selection:

Required:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Systems Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or related field0-2 years of experience performing analysisPursuing a Bachelor's degree in the areas of Business, Finance, Economics, or Political ScienceAbility to research complex economic topics on short notice and develop concise, informative reports and briefingsDemonstrated ability to analyze technical problems by developing research questions, implementing appropriate analytical methods, and presenting resultsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal) U.S. citizenship and eligible for a DoD Secret clearance
