Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Position Information:** + 1st shift hours are Monday- Friday 6AM- 2:30PM. + 2nd shift hours are Monday-Friday 2PM-10:30PM. + 3rd shift hours are Sunday- Thursday 10PM- 6:30AM. + Weekend 1st shift hours are Friday-Sunday 6AM- 6:30PM. + Weekend 3rd shift hours are Friday-Sunday 6PM- 6:30AM. + Weekend shift works 36 hours but is paid for 40 hours. + Starting pay for the position is $16-19/hr. depending on experience and education. + Benefits are effective on your 1st day of employment. + This is an on-site position in Hodges, SC. **Job Summary** The shop cleaner’s primary responsibility is to maintain the shop areas in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Shop cleaners will perform with minimal supervision and/or direction to complete duties (predefined or as needed). **What you will do (includes but not limited to):** + Perform a variety of industrial janitorial duties to maintain shop floor cleanliness. + Maintain appropriate level of supplies (baghouse bags, vacuum hose, shovels, brooms, dustpans, and other cleaning equipment). + Complete yard work, clear snow and debris as needed. + Operate mechanical and/or manual equipment as required to perform effective cleaning procedure includes industrial vacuum cleaner, Forklift, Skid Steer, etc. + Gather soiled rags and places them in the appropriate storage container. + Meet or exceeds accepted cleaning standards (5S). + Always work safely and comply with safety regulations. + Offer suggestions relative to improving work process, procedures, productivity, job safety or work environment. + Perform other miscellaneous job assignments and related functions as directed by Team Lead, Manager, or another designated person. + Must also maintain a good working relationship with others within the organization. **Physical Demands:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. **Work Environment:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, flashes, burns, eyestrain and sparks from welder and grinder. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat while welding in hot weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Lastly, when needed you may be required to lift up to 35lbs, following all proper lifting procedures set by the company. Personal protective equipment will be required and provided for to the employee. **What you will do:** + 6 months of previous work experience + Ability to work with minimum supervision + Ability to follow detailed instructions for work schedules of machine and shop floor cleaning. + Perform as a team member with the willingness and attitude to work with others to resolve problems + Maintain a good working relationship with others within the organization **Top Candidates will also have:** + Prior experience operating powered industrial equipment (I.e. forklift, skid steer, industrial cleaning equipment, etc.) + Prior experience with lockout tagout **What you will get:** + **Safety in words and actions.** Safety is a core value at Caterpillar.
