As an Industrial Water/Wastewater Mechanic based in Turlock, CA, you will be responsible for maintenance and repair of plant equipment at a medium-sized industrial processing plant, which includes areas of expertise in electrical, plumbing, and instrumentation. Primary goal is to assure safe and efficient process maintenance by responding to changing conditions in timely manner. Support for all functions is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs maintenance in all areas of the process water treatment plant on a scheduled or emergency basis:
• Mechanical repairs on pumps, valve, and heat exchangers
• Electrical repairs on motors, motor starters; running conduit and pulling wires for new installations
• Building repairs and cleaning
• Inspects equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction such as leaks, breakages and faulty valves.
• Communicates directly with production to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
• Patrols units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.
• Performs preventative maintenance activities as required.
• Assists with new installations and other projects, as requested by the supervisor.
• Works with engineer and contractors to plan and implement installation of new equipment or systems.
• Participates in safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Works in a safe manner at all times.
• Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
• Be available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis
• Understands of plant operational processes and procedures, including routine and
emergency start-up and shutdown practices
• Operates Water Pre-Treatment and perform lab testing
• Operates RO Water Systems and testing for water quality
• Ability to operate Evaporator systems and uses instrumentation to determine proper operation
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, mechanical and electrical diagrams and drawings
• Knowledge of evaporation processes and also basic HVAC
• Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care
• Ability to operate lift trucks and all terrain lift in safe manner
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Mechanical experience of pumps, motors, plumbing and simple machines
• Electrical experience and applications including (120volt, 240 volt, 480 volt systems)
• Pneumatic and Hydraulic applications experience
• Welding experience (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, AIR ARC, PLASMA CUTTING, OXY FUEL)
• PC/PLC experience preferred
• Chemical Hygiene and HAZCOM experience preferred
• Proficiency with basic computer software preferred
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with all levels within the organization and the ability to work in a diverse to independently lead others and project maintenance teams or contractors
• Ability to write detailed repair reports and good verbal communication skills
• Participate in Preventive Maintenance Program and document work performed.
• Order parts as needed and use expense reporting system
• Valid driver’s license required
• High school graduate
• 3-5 years experience preferred as industrial mechanic or similar responsibility
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to perform job duties while wearing a respirator and ability to qualify for respirator
• Must be able to lift and work overhead, to stoop and to crouch
• Must be able to lift and/or move 60 lbs on a regular basis
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of 100 ft.
Work Environment:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
• The employee will be regularly exposed to very dusty and noisy conditions
• The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions
• The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the process
• Willing and able to work any shift, including overtime and weekends
• Candidates must successfully complete all required pre-employment requirements including physical, drug screen and background inquiry check

The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
