Industry 4.0 Manufacturing Systems Engineer
Role Overview:
Otis Elevator Company is searching for a highly motivated Industry 4.0 Manufacturing Systems Engineer who will report to the Industry 4.0 and System Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and measuring major projects related to industry 4.0 and its systems, providing direction for continuous improvement initiatives, and meeting or exceeding the Otis North America Factory Industry 4.0 Roadmap.
On a Typical Day You Will:
Create and/or optimize manufacturing automation, Industry 4.0, advanced manufacturing processes, process and equipment/automation improvement, innovation, and new product launches (with accountability to ensure DFA/DFM and assembly robustness in all phases).Manage a portfolio of I4.0 projects.Manage process flows from inception to phase out, including product launch and support, and resolve problems with existing products across cross-functional production teams.Support of Industry 4.0 Roadmap, goals, and related metrics.Lead discussions with internal customers or suppliers focused on I4.0 initiatives.Benchmark best practices across Otis Elevator sites and share lessons learned through the plant.Strong communication and presentation skills, able to support / lead discussion as needed for Industry 4.0 discussions.Collect and analyze manufacturing data and metrics and incorporate findings into Industry 4.0 equipment to reduce defective material and process-stop occurrences. Resolve issues with long-term, permanent solutions.Continue enhancing current Industry 4.0 solutions in the plant while looking for new solutions.Partner with cross-functional teams to implement solutions for process efficiencies and OEE improvement.What You Will Need to be Successful:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionTypically requires BS in an Engineering field and 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, or 2+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering.Minimum five years of manufacturing experience in a factory settingMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineeringExperience with Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory principles, technologies, and/or techniques, machine design, and process data analytics preferred.Advanced capabilities with solutions such as ERP, MES, PLM, Quality management, warehouse management, and Industry 4.0 values.Working knowledge of project management tools, such as MS Project, Click up, Smartsheet, and Monday.Agile Project Management Experience is required for this position.Previous lean and/or Six Sigma certification, with demonstrated results preferredExperience in high mix/low volume manufacturing environment preferred.Experienced communication and presentation skills – Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to corporate leaders.Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills and ability to collaboratively with others at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated experience in developing and/or strengthening customer relationshipsProven leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skillsSense of business urgency and drive.Apply today to join us and build what’s next!
