Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
The Occupational Therapy team’s committed professionals participate in a number of health and rehabilitation programs designed to build our patients’ confidence while helping them reach full potential in mobility, communication and daily living skills. Our integrated program involves many highly trained specialists with experience in work-related therapy and care programs.
The Infant Therapist evaluates infant patients, develops therapeutic plans, and provides family-centered care. You will emphasize the integration of knowledge about neonatal conditions and equipment, supporting infant development, and collaborating with medical teams. You will also be responsible for educating families, documenting patient care, adhering to safety policies, participating in training and quality management activities, and serves as a clinical resource. We are looking for someone sensitive and experienced, with excellent communication and patient care skills and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

**Minimum Qualifications:** Current Hawai‘i Occupational Therapy license and National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Occupational Therapy certification or Current Hawai‘i Speech Pathologist license and Current American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certification. Current American Heart Association Heart Saver – AED CPR card. Two (2) years of clinical experience, including one (1) year in infants and pediatrics.
**Preferred Qualifications:** One (1) year general occupational therapy or speech language therapy experience. One (1) year of acute care hospital experience. Previous experience with Pediatric population.
