Performs a variety of professional duties involved in the prevention and control of hospital acquired infections; the collection, definition, interpretation and reporting of data on a systematic and current basis through daily surveillance of patient wards and outpatient clinics. Duties also include development and implementation of educational methods to include all disciplines of hospital employees. Qualifications include a current NC RN license; BSN preferred; at least 2 years' experience in a health care environment; previous experience in hospital case management and infection control preferred; familiarity with Microsoft Office; excellent communication and organizational skills; diplomacy, tact, and a positive approach to problem solving.
