Summary:
Understands the multiple facets of the Infection Control Program through a team approach for Catholic Health. Promote the policies of the Infection Control Program by providing a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff through prevention and risk reduction interventions. This position involves professional responsibilities in the areas of case findings, surveillance, reporting, analysis and interpretation, inspection, prevention, education, consultation and recommendations. Will provide, or conduct other duties to support the function of the Infection Control department as assigned by the Infection Control Director, Infection Control Supervisor or Infection Control Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
+ Current Registered Nurse, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Registered Dietician, Registered Physical or Occupational Therapist licensed by the State of New York
+ B.S. in a scientific discipline
EXPERIENCE
+ Current (within one year) clinical experience required
+ Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience with one (1) year in a critical care setting preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
+ Requires good verbal and written communication skills
+ Emergency preparedness training is desirable
+ Strong critical thinking and problem solving ability required
+ Experience in planning and presentations in various settings
+ Strong ability to prioritize and adapt to changes as needed
+ Computer skills are essential for excel, word, outlook or other data management programs
+ Ability to perform extensive medical review
+ Familiarity with EPIC documentation
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Flexible schedule and able to travel to multiple Catholic Health sites
+ Requires extensive walking
