Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of site-specific infection prevention and control initiatives, and for the support of surveillance activities at the division and system level. Responsible for ensuring state, federal (i.e. Centers for Disease Control), regulatory and accreditation standards are met to include required communicable disease reporting. Provide leadership and expertise to site-specific administrative and clinical staff leadership through rounding, staff education and training, and promotion of evidence-based/best practices to improve quality outcomes.
Individuals who hold a license or certification are required to hold and maintain that credential. Expert knowledge of infection preferred. Local travel preferred. Prevention & control experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited university or college with emphasis in Nursing, clinical quality improvement, microbiology, epidemiology, public health or related field. Must possess expert knowledge of infection surveillance, prevention, and control standards and initiatives, as well as performance/process improvement concepts. Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (i.e. Certification in Infection Control, or CIC, preferred. Required within on year of eligibility.
