JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Qualifications:  Requires a minimum of 3 years’ systems management experience.  Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to complete reports, manage time efficiently, analyze situations and make appropriate decisions; self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.

Preferred Qualification:  

Certified Medical Assistant or LPN with a background in Infection Control

                                                                                                                           

Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Essential Functions/Job Duties: 

Ensures corporate compliance with infection control, biomedical waste policies and universal precautions.

Reviews CDC, OSHA, AHCA, Manatee County Health Department, Joint Commission reports, policies and standards, including meeting reporting requirements.

Ensures corporate compliance with CDC, OSHA, AHCA, Manatee County Health Department, Joint Commission policies and standards and reports to PI Committee and Environment of Care Committee.

Responsible for annual Infection Control plan and goals.

Provides staff training and coordinates with HR. Responds to infection control and biomedical waste issues, providing guidance and direction to staff. Maintains PPE supplies for all locations.

Monitors staff illnesses and vaccinations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

Works in well-lighted areas.  Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.  Is subject to frequent interruptions.  Is involved with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., in a behavioral health setting.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a part time position.  All hospital staff must be available early mornings; evenings, holidays and weekends.   Some travel is required.

Pay Range:

$18.20--$25.50
