Cayuga Health Systems is seeking a dedicated and experienced Perdiem Infection Prevention Nurse who would be accountable to implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the Infection Prevention and Control program. The IP Nurse would be responsible to follow all current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations. \n

The IP RN provides consultative services (as a Subject Matter Expert). They will drive and foster a culture of patient and staff safety, providing service excellence to all.\n

Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nInfection Control Policies: Create, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.\nMonitoring and Surveillance: Conduct regular surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) within the facility. Monitor infection trends, identify potential outbreaks, and take prompt corrective action.\nEducation and Training: Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control practices, hand hygiene, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).\nCollaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and environmental services, to ensure a cohesive approach to infection prevention and control.\nOutbreak Response: Actively participate in outbreak investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement control measures to prevent further spread of infections.\nCompliance: Ensure compliance with infection control regulations and guidelines. Stay updated on current infection control practices and guidelines\n \nRequired Skills and Experience:\nEducation: Current NYS R.N. license required. BSN in Nursing preferred\nLicensure\/Certifications: Certification in Infection Control (CIC)\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nExperience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a position titled IP RN preferred\n\n

Physical Requirements:\n\n\n

This position primarily involves sedentary work. The incumbent will typically perform tasks while seated at a desk or workstation, utilizing computers, phones, and other office equipment. Sedentary work may require occasional standing, walking, or light physical effort, but the majority of duties will be performed in a seated position. Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$39.19 to $48.59 per hour\n\n
