Job Summary:  To develop, coordinate and maintain an ongoing, infection prevention and control program designed to prevent, locate, identify and control infectious diseases within the hospital setting and specified affiliates including but not limited to CMG Practices, Caromont Endoscopy Center, Caromont Surgical Center, Caromont Hospice and Courtland Terrace.

Qualifications:   Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). BSN preferred or must obtain within 12 months of hire.   Required to be current in and maintain certification (CIC) in the practice of hospital infection control by Certification Board of Infection Control & Epidemiology (CBIC) or to obtain certification within 3 years upon hire.  Three-year diploma nurses are not eligible to sit for CIC exam effective December 31, 2020.  At least three years of acute hospital experience are required.  Ability to work independently.  Excellent communication skills and detailed oriented.  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities Extensive knowledge of infection control and epidemiological principles, methods and techniques required.  Works in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team(s) focused on patient safety and process improvement.
