Position Summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking an informatics pharmacist to join our corporate pharmacy team. This on-site position is based at our flagship hospital, FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC; though travel to other FirstHealth locations is occasionally required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include technology evaluation and implementation, including all aspects of project management.  Must be able to review vendor technical specifications and communicate relevant data effectively to the pharmacy administrative team in addition to being the primary liaison with FirstHealth's Information Systems department.  The informatics pharmacist will monitor uptime of all pharmacy related technology and is the primary liaison when troubleshooting with vendors and FirstHealth’s IS/Epic team. The individual works closely with the Epic Willow team representing pharmacy operations to troubleshoot identified issues and enhance the end user experience, though Epic credentials are not required.  Other responsibilities include maintaining medication databases (including NDC, barcode, etc.) in pharmacy systems, monitoring revenue integrity and controlled substance anomalies electronically, and troubleshooting pharmacy billing.

Pharmacy technology presently deployed in FirstHealth’s pharmacy department include: Epic EMR, Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets, Omnicell RobotRx, DoseEdge, Rx30 (retail software), KitCheck (RFID for emergency kits) and ControlCheck (controlled substance monitoring).

Qualifications

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of PharmacyLicensed, or eligible for, NC licensureExceptional verbal and written communication skillsPresentation and public speaking comfortExcellent problem-solving ability
