As an Informatics Pharmacist Specialist, you will work collaboratively across the health system to support the management of the pharmacy computer system and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems and the medication-use process, with the goal of providing efficient, timely, accurate pharmacy services.

Principle duties and responsibilities:Maintain Pharmacy operations compliance with all State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations or standards. Maintain department reports and statisticsAssist in developing and facilitating the implementation of goals and objectives for the DepartmentResponsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of Pharmacy projects and establishing the trainingTrain and facilitate training of new staff and re-educating existing staffAssume responsibility for the timely dissemination of information related to Pharmacy projectsEstablish and review department finance reports and patient charges daily; maintain a current database of AWP price information; synchronize drug charges; collaborate with Patient Finance and Medical Audit on questions or issues related to patient medication charges; build and troubleshoot Ambulatory charge-on-administration functionalityUpdate drug pricing quarterly; perform monthly Multum content updates and the ongoing management of NDC numbers and HCPCS billing codesAssure the proper maintenance, functioning and optimization of the pharmacy computer system; manage the Cerner PharmNet formulary database and maintain synchronization with Patient Financial Services servicemaster; maintain Advance Dispense Routing, Batch dispensing operations, and label customization; maintain PowerChart Pharmacy orderables and Dose Range Checking content; collaborate with Information Technology staff for ongoing management of Powerorders medication order catalog; maintain alignment of PharmNet formulary with ConnectRx/OMNICELL database, Alaris drug library, and DoseEdgeServe as the resource for requests to pharmacy system changes, including participation in drug shortages, formulary maintenance task force, Report2Learns including problem solving medication barcode scanning issues, and software upgrade testing and implementationDesign and implement quality improvement changes to the medication-use system; conduct practice-related projects, clinical research, and/or pharmacy performance improvement initiativesRepresent the department on inter-departmental and system level projects, initiatives, and committeesEducation and Experience Requirements:Pharm.D; or B.S Pharmacy degree, with equivalent relevant experienceASHP-Accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency preferredCurrent licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in the State of DelawareCerner experience requiredAt least five years of hospital pharmacy experience (residency training counts towards years)ChristianaCare offers:
