Information Security Analyst Associate

In this role, you will make an impact through:

● During your training you will be equipped to serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO), implementing the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for new and existing information systems.
● Supporting the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with the development of Assessment & Authorization artifacts such as SOPs, Test Results, Implementation Plans, POA&Ms, RARs, and other necessary documentation.
● Assist in the development of security policies and procedures, including incident response and contingency plans.

● Perform duties as a member of the incident response team, conduct risk assessments and investigations, executing appropriate risk mitigations, and overseeing incident response activities.
● Conduct regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and that information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined.

● Assist with the implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls.

● Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments.
● Monitor systems for any suspicious activity, investigate the anomalous behavior and report the findings to the ISSM.

● Leverages technical skills and analytic thinking to resolve problems

● Interface with the ISSM, FSO, Program Managers, Directors, Enterprise IT, Accreditation Authority, and Government Customers to ensure applicable security policies and company goals are met.
● Researches, evaluates, test, communicates, and implements new security software or devices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● High school diploma or equivalent

● Required Certification(s): Must have IAT I (A+, Net+, CCNA Security, or SSCP)

● Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Windows Administration, Office proficiency
● Required Skills and Abilities: High level attention to detail, ability to analyze and resolve problems, strong communication skills both written and verbal

● Certifications: 8140 - ability to obtain IAT II/IAM I certification within 6 months of hire
● Required Abilities: Self-starter, able to work independently
● Location: Primary Location Falls Church VA (will also go into Chantilly some days). Will be in the office 5x a week.

● Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
● US Citizenship Required
