Founded in 1999, the company delivers a comprehensive event marketing and management platform for event professionals and offers software solutions to hotels, special event venues and destinations to help them grow their group/MICE and corporate travel business. At Cvent, our paid Technology Apprenticeship Program is designed to provide real-world mentorship and experience to individuals coming from non-traditional education paths, who are eager to kickstart their career as a Security Analyst or Engineer. As an Information Security (InfoSec) Apprentice, you will work closely with industry-leading professionals and contribute to the success of our software company. You will be assigned projects that align with our production schedules and operational needs, allowing you to gain extensive exposure to the information security and technology departments. This program not only supports your professional development but also opens doors to potential full-time employment with Cvent. In This Role, You Will: advanced trainings on tools and platforms commonly used at Cvent (AWS, Splunk, etc.) with additional certification opportunities. The InfoSec Apprentice will gain insight and develop practical skills via rotations within each functional discipline of InfoSec, including: Security Engineering Application Security Governance Security Awareness & Training Risk & Compliance Threat Analysis & Response Develop core competencies related to each of the key InfoSec disciplines listed above by supporting specific programs such as vulnerability management, key performance indicator (KPI) and performance metrics reporting, phishing simulations, security incident and event management console monitoring, and more. Perform a variety of tasks directly related to information security risk assessment, identity and access management, secure software design and engineering, technical vulnerability assessment, cloud security engineering, cyber security monitoring and investigation, and security awareness and training. Support the building, managing, and/or operating of InfoSec processes, tools, and solutions. Assist in conducting security data analysis, reporting, and documentation. Learn about emerging InfoSec trends, technologies, risks and threats through a mixture of on-the-job training combined with opportunities for self-paced online education and individual research. Here's What You Need: No degree is required. Strong preference is given to candidates who have successfully completed an immersive cyber security bootcamp, or similar program, that prepares students for CompTIA Security+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), (ISC)2 Associate, or similar certifications. Completion of a software coding bootcamp and/or moderate experience with scripting in Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, and/or bash is strongly preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively identify and address technical challenges. Working knowledge of security tools such as EDR, Log Aggregation and Correlation, Vulnerability and compliance scanners, SAST and DAST, DLP/SASE/CASB, or Identity and Access Management technologies. Familiarity with common web application vulnerabilities and attack vectors (e.g., OWASP Top 10) is a plus. A passion for technology, self-discipline, hustle, and a strong growth mindset; demonstrated engagement in technology industry trends and the ability to learn in both independent and collaborative ways and get things done.
