GENERAL FUNCTION

The Early Career Co-Op provides support as directed through assignments within a line of business or division while receiving exposure to the broader organization. Co-Ops integrate into the organization through day-to-day activities and project work. Co-Ops operate as team members on larger initiatives, but also work independently on smaller projects and tasks.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW

The Information Security Early Career Co-Op will be responsible for delivering and supporting the enterprise security tools and architecture developed in collaboration with the Information Security and Infrastructure teams. The Co-Op will also participate in a diverse variety of Information Security projects and support the ongoing operations of the Information Security department. The Co-Op is be focused on protecting our cloud platforms and containers with security tools/processes and clear security requirements and reducing the effort required by application and platform teams to build secure and compliant infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform assignments and projects as determined by leadership.

Serve as a security engineer on cloud projects.

Build a network of contacts within assigned line of business or division as well as across the organization.

Engineer and implement well-architected solutions while adhering to software development best practices.

Effectively communicate with others, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.

Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Support the Bank's operational information security responsibilities, including the development maintenance of standards, procedures, and guidelines necessary to satisfy the Information Security department's network operations.

Complete assigned coursework while seeking and maintaining knowledge of current and upcoming IT security technologies.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Current enrollment (or recent completion) in accredited degreed program as a rising Junior.

Strong academic record with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to balance multiple assignments and be flexible.

The capacity to learn additional software applications as required by the assignment.

Capable of managing own time to meet established deadlines.

Ability to demonstrate initiative/tenacity.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Relevant internships and/or co-op program experience.

Demonstrated proficiency with a scripting or coding language, preferably Python.

Experience working with and supporting Unix/Linux and Windows systems.
