We are looking for an engineer to join our security development team who can work with others across the organization, analyze systems, and implement technical solutions that improve our ability to identify, stop, and respond to potential threats.\n \nHow You’ll Find Success\n\n\nYou will have a degree in computer science or similar degree with an interest and/or focus on security.\nAt least 1-2 years of meaningful experience is ideal.\nYou want to lean in and help the organization be secure without slowing people down.\nStopping the bad guys is what it's all about for you.\nYou are as comfortable on the command line as you are in a GUI, if not more so.\nExperimenting with existing tools or building new ones to help secure our infrastructure makes everyday exciting for you.\n\n\n \nHow You’ll Grow\n\n\nAt Qualtrics, your experience as a Security Development Engineer will equip you with practical skills essential for the security landscape. You'll enhance your expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) while implementing robust authentication and authorization systems to protect our data.\nAs you work on vulnerability scanning and management, you'll learn to identify security vulnerabilities and deploy essential security tools that strengthen our defenses. You'll also improve your automation skills by creating self-service tools that enable engineering teams to prioritize security without slowing down their processes.\nCollaboration with cross-functional teams will provide insights into integrating security measures across different product lines. You’ll gain hands-on experience with technologies such as Python, Docker, and AWS, enhancing your ability to automate processes and improve incident response.\nIn addition, you’ll leverage AI and analytics to optimize threat detection and enhance overall efficiency. Navigating regulatory compliance requirements will deepen your understanding of security audits and industry standards.\nThrough this role, you will build both your technical and soft skills, including problem-solving and teamwork, preparing you for a successful career in cybersecurity or software engineering. At Qualtrics, every challenge presents an opportunity to grow and enhance our security posture.\n\n\n \nThings You’ll Do\n\n\nServe as an engineering resource to design, deploy, and integrate security tooling, ensuring seamless handoff to operational teams.\nImplement solutions to handle authentication/authorization between services.\nEmpower engineers to own the security of their products through self-service tools\nBuild tools and integrations to automate processes and improve our incident response\nCollaborate with diverse teams to foster a security-first culture and accelerate secure product development.\nImplement custom vulnerability scanning tooling to identify vulnerabilities and assist Engineering teams with remediation.\nManage compliance scanning and work towards meeting our compliance obligations for audits and regulatory standards.\nEnhance centralized identity and access management tools to streamline user provisioning, access controls, and compliance.\nIdentify and implement new technologies and processes to improve security\nIdentify and analyze anomalies demonstrating a log management solution. (e.g. splunk, sumo logic, elastic, OSSEC)\nLeverage AI to improve our security processes and identify optimizations, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.\n\nSome technologies we used to accomplish our goals - Python!!!, Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, Puppet/Hiera, and Bash.
