Information Security Engineer I
The Information Security Engineer I role is responsible for the effective delivery of various day-to-day security administration activities, as well as the regular review, monitoring, and reporting associated with the credit union’s overall information protection needs. + Security Systems Monitoring - Act as the first “point of contact” for all IT Service Desk tickets assigned to the Information Security Team. Gather assigned security systems reporting for regular information channels. Monitor and respond to suspicious emails submitted for analysis by WPCU/myCU partners. Escalate trends and concerns appropriately and in a timely manner. (35%) + Endpoint Provisioning - Ensure that endpoints including workstations, servers, printers, and miscellaneous network devices are provisioned appropriately in various security systems. Verify that proper procedures, processes, and operating controls are followed. (35%) + Security Systems Administration - Maintain and operate IT Security owned technical systems. Complete operations tasks in a timely manner while meeting defined quality standards. Provide operations activity for (including but not limited to): Physical Access Controls, Anti-Virus, Privileged Account Controls, Email Hygiene, and Web Filtering. (20%) + Technical Writing - Develop and maintain actionable procedures for all daily IT Security tasks. Work with the ticketing System Administrator to develop new and change existing workflows to streamline ticket generation for the IT Security Team. (10%) Required Skills Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills: The person in this position must be skilled in the basic principles of Information Security protection, including but not limited to the tools, processes, and industry trends relative to this field of IT. Hence, the following are required: + A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field is preferred. Candidates who present an equivalent combination of formal training/certifications and at least 2 years of practical experience specific to Information Security may also be considered. + Security+ Certification or Associate CISSP is required. Candidates without these certifications will be considered and required to obtain proper certification(s) within the first year of employment. + Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory; Microsoft certification is preferred. + Demonstrate a working knowledge of computer networking and secure protocols (e.g. SSL, FTPS, HTTPS, IPSEC, etc.); Network+ or Cisco certification is preferred. + Proficient working knowledge of security technologies, such as access management, security monitoring, and data encryption. + Knowledge of new and/or innovative initiatives that have improved efficiency, quality, security, and service levels within the IT security arena. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation. + The ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.
