Job DescriptionMission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a process-oriented Information System Project Manager 2 to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) Research and Development (R&D) for Joint Staff J7 (JS J7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex location.
Essential Job Responsibilities Leads and directs one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment. Keeps current on advances in the field of IT. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.Manages complex IT projects to include:
Determining and maintaining project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems. Preparing project status reports and briefings, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Tracking and reporting on technical progress of project deliverables, contract deliverables, and Scientific and Technical Information (STI). Analyzing, developing, optimizing, and improving existing processes to enhance the ability to manage multiple diverse projects across a number of disparate teams with different internal processes. Identifying, prioritizing, and implementing process improvements to increase communication between teams, identify and minimize redundant steps, and increase overall efficiency in project management. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new processes, tools, and requirements and providing training, guidance, and facilitation of change management as needed. Monitoring and analyzing process data and performance metrics, identifying trends, and proposing solutions for continuous process improvement. Identifying and implementing process control measures to ensure consistent quality and to reduce process variation. Performing process capability studies, statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making to achieve operational excellence and meet improvement targets. Ensuring compliance with customer and company process standards for reporting and continuous evaluation. Maintaining a CMMI SVC and CMMI DEV Maturity Level 5 accreditation, collecting supporting artifacts, documenting processes and evidence of implementation, and assisting with program audits. Working with stakeholders to identify business requirements and risks and performing risk management to minimize project risks. Collaborating with multiple teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures, (SOPs), workflows, and other documentation. Participating in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures. Staying up to date with the latest advancements in process engineering technologies, methodologies and best practices. Minimum Qualifications 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. Active Secret security clearance Experience with process improvement tools and methodologies. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Solid understanding of quality management systems. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Mature technical writing capability. Experience with Jira/Confluence in a project management environment. Experience working in a government contracting environment. Preferred Requirements Technical background in IT/Systems Engineering/Software Development with preferred experience in Modeling and Simulation. Professional certification in process engineering or related areas (Preferred).
