Job Summary: IT Veterans is currently seeking a Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team. You must have an active TS/SCI clearance. Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our federal contracting efforts. The ISSO will be responsible for the day-to-day security of information systems, ensuring compliance with federal security regulations, and actively monitoring and managing potential security risks. This position requires a hands-on approach to securing systems and collaborating with various teams to maintain the highest security standards. What You'll Do: + Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard information systems. + Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk assessments to identify potential security risks and weaknesses. + Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, such as NIST 800-53, FISMA, and RMF (Risk Management Framework). + Assist in the preparation and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs), ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with security regulations. + Perform continuous monitoring of systems and assist in the management of security patches and updates. + Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement and manage security configurations. + Respond to security incidents, provide support during incident response, and assist with investigations as needed. + Document and report security-related activities, incidents, and system statuses to senior management and clients. + Assist in conducting audits and security reviews to verify compliance with security standards. + Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure effective protection of information systems. What You Bring to the Team: + Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. + Minimum of five years of experience in information systems security + In-depth knowledge of federal security frameworks, including NIST 800-53, FISMA, and the RMF process. + Strong understanding of security technologies, risk management, and incident response. + Experience with security tools such as vulnerability scanners, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members, management, and clients. + Certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or Security+ preferred. + Experience with continuous monitoring tools and automated security controls. + Experience in system accreditation, authorization, and security documentation (e.g., SSP, POA&M). + Must have an active TS clearance At IT Veterans LLC, we are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
