Job Summary: IT Veterans is currently seeking a Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team. You must have an active TS/SCI clearance. Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our federal contracting efforts. The ISSO will be responsible for the day-to-day security of information systems, ensuring compliance with federal security regulations, and actively monitoring and managing potential security risks. This position requires a hands-on approach to securing systems and collaborating with various teams to maintain the highest security standards. What You'll Do: + Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard information systems. + Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk assessments to identify potential security risks and weaknesses. + Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, such as NIST 800-53, FISMA, and RMF (Risk Management Framework). + Assist in the preparation and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSPs), ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with security regulations. + Perform continuous monitoring of systems and assist in the management of security patches and updates. + Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement and manage security configurations. + Respond to security incidents, provide support during incident response, and assist with investigations as needed. + Document and report security-related activities, incidents, and system statuses to senior management and clients. + Assist in conducting audits and security reviews to verify compliance with security standards. + Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure effective protection of information systems.
