XVIII ABC Hub and Spoke MTCs provide individual and collective training on Army Mission Command Systems, using a variety of tools and Army fielded systems. These systems are used to support Small Unit Training: Squads through Company, Medium Unit Training: Battalion through Brigade, and Large Unit Training: Divisions and Corps in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Unified Land Operations (ULO).
HOW the Information Systems Security Officer WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) shall be the overall implementer for the MTC’s RMF program. The ISSO coordinates directly with the Government ISSM and is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained and documented for MTC information systems. The position is responsible for defining & implementing standard operating procedures, implementing DoD, Army, & MTC policies, and creating & implementing plans of action and milestones (POA&M) in response to vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, & inspections. Serves as auditor for Cross-Domain solutions; Assures successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate IT policies and procedures that are consistent with the organization's mission and goals. This position requires a Secret Security Clearance and the appropriate DoD 8570.01-M baseline certifications as an IAMII.
Employs configuration guidance based on (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). Requires an in-depth knowledge of Cisco integrated operating systems and experience with network management systems such as SolarWinds network management suite.Requires a working knowledge of the ACAS server suite, scanning procedures, and both physical and virtual servers.Must be experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) program for the MTC network enclaves.Prepares and maintains accreditation documentation and artifacts in accordance with RMF policy for US Army and/or DoD programs on behalf of the MTC Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).Maintains MTC Systems / ATO in eMASS and serves as SME for RMF, Network Accreditation, and associated DOD and Army SOPs and Regulations (System and Network)Requires an in-depth cyber security knowledge to draft, revise, and enforce network and system security policies.Ensures the appropriate operational security posture is maintained and documented for MTC information systems.Implements standard operating procedures, DoD, Army, & MTC policies, and creates plans of action and milestones (POA&M) in response to vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, & inspections.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience. 4+ years’ experience supporting military training.DoD Certification and Training Requirements: Baseline Certification - CompTIA CASP+.Computing Environment Certification IAW DoD 8570.01-m required.Technical Category and Level: IAM-IIIISecurity Clearance: Current SECRET required, must be able to obtain TS/SCILocation: Fort Drum MTC. Normal work schedule is 0730-1630, may require night or weekend work shifts depending on specific training event requirements.Travel: May require occasional travel (less than 10%)
