A week in the life of an Information Systems Security Officer:

Review and develop Information Systems (IS) accreditation/certification support documentation. Maintain RMF standards and Configuration Management  Perform STIGS / SCAP on the network, Self Inspections, and enforce remediation actions Assess Vulnerability and Risk Management Create and maintain system Assessment and Authorization policies. Create, update, and monitor/maintain SOPs and plans including PO&AMs, Continuous Monitoring, SSPs, and Incident Responses Perform audits (Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly) to identify vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures Maintain IS security records and advise and prepare Co-Utilization Agreements Track software and hardware End of Life (EOL) and End of Service Life (EOSL) Provide security coordination and reviews on all system test plans Attend system Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings.
