THE POSITION
The Department of the Auditor General (DAG) is looking for a highly motivated individual with information technology (IT) infrastructure experience to join our team. As an IT Generalist 1, you will have the opportunity to utilize your vast knowledge and experience to provide technical support to users. This position is eligible for student loan forgiveness and provides excellent health, savings, and retirement benefits. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will be working in our Office of Information Technology. You will be responsible for providing technical support for department IT infrastructure to maintain existing systems, implement new systems, and troubleshoot or resolve end-user problems in a professional and timely manner. Work is generally performed in a networked environment and involves the application of technical IT principles in accordance with department policies and standards. Responsibilities include:
+ Responding to Help Desk requests
+ Performing daily Hyper-V and VMware monitoring and server patching
+ Administering M365 environment, Azure infrastructure, as well as Rubrik backups and job scheduling
+ Configuring, installing, and supporting software
+ Interconnecting computers and IP telephony equipment
+ Lifting and moving computers, printers, scanners, and other relevant hardware
+ Assisting in planning, implementing, and managing IT projects
+ Participating in on-the-job training
+ Developing and maintaining system and/or user documentation
+ Attending meetings
Work also involves:
+ Administering Trellix EPO Server environment including, but not limited to:
+ Deployment of agents
+ Testing and remediating problems
+ Testing and deployment of product updates
+ Troubleshooting general issues
+ Administering laptop fleet including, but not limited to:
+ Imaging OS and prepping laptop for re-deployment
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware or software issues and work with vendor till resolution
+ Assist in monthly patching, testing, and issue remediation
+ Assist with critical vulnerability resolution
+ Administering BitLocker encryption including, but not limited to:
+ Setting pins
+ Resetting pins and passwords
+ Troubleshooting issues
+ Firmware and software upgrades
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician;or
+ Three years of information technology experience in networking or desktop services, infrastructure support, or other information technology support/administration services,or
+ One year of information technology experience in networking or desktop services, infrastructure support, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate degree in any information technology field;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
