DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an IT Generalist 1, your work will involve computer and data processing work, including training, support, development, and analysis of computer programs and systems used within the organization. You will be providing maintenance on computer systems and assisting with installing, removing, and moving computers and cabling when necessary. Your analytical skills will be utilized in evaluating computer systems and software for the most efficient and effective use. Keeping updated on current computer systems, programs, and equipment will be key as you assist in developing new or revised programs to meet the recordkeeping or reporting needs of the organization. You will have the opportunity to train staff and outside providers in the use of computer programs used within Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration’s systems. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + One year as an Information Technology Trainee (LG), Information Technology Trainee, Information Technology Technician (LG) or Information Technology Technician;or + Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services;or + One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field;or + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
