Information Technology Intern

Primary Purpose

To experience Mountaire's culture first-hand and provide additional exposure of Mountaire's family-oriented work environment.  Fulfill all designated duties within each specialized area of operation for the duration of the internship. This program is intended to provide learning opportunities by working hands-on with mentors and completing assigned projects. Interns will perform additional assignments; however, completion of the project will be the primary objective of the work experience. The Intern will understand all different sections of the Information Technology department.  In addition, this Intern position will be exposed  to the various aspects of our Mountaire Operations and look to help serve as a conduit between the business (Problems) and the Technology (Solutions) to provide improved quality of Service. 

Primary Project

Work with the Infrastructure team to understand the current Network/Server layout.     Work with the Plant support team to understand the Systems overview for production      Work with the Enabled applications team to understand all different applications Mountaire uses to enable the end users for better communication/collaboration          Work with the Commercial applications team to understand all the applications Mountaire uses to support different business sections.         Work to Cyber Security team to learn various applications to safeguard the cyber space. statement.

Duties/Activities Required by Job

Complete assigned project identified by department mentor Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 5 - 7, 2025) All interns are required to complete a 10 minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 4-8th.  All interns must complete a mid-way evaluation (week 5) along with a final evaluation (week 10)

Education/Experience Requirements 

Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university Computer Science background preferred Technical acumen Basic understanding of PC and network hardware Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Creative and detail-oriented Good organizational and communication skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Valid Driver’s License
