Summary As an Information Technology Specialist, you will be on the cutting edge of planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating all Information Technology initiatives needed to support the Enterprise Collaboration Services Branch within the Enterprise Collaboration Services Division in the End User Services Office. Responsibilities The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. This position is eligible for fully remote work anywhere within the 50 United States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. There is no reporting requirement. The duty station is the authorized telework location (typically your home address) and locality pay is adjusted appropriately. The individual selected for this position will… Serve as the senior technical expert for the assigned IT area, involving hardware, software, process, and procedure associated with data storage and backup systems. Integrate complex information from multiple sources in order to provide the most complete, pertinent and efficient responses to queries. Apply business process, engineering concepts and methods sufficient to lead/conduct studies designed to identify potential improvements in the way information technology is applied to key business functions. Provide technical and procedural guidance to team members and other support staff to include customer training. Consult with customers to identify and specify requirements. Communicate with staff, managers, project team members, customers across the agency, as well as with vendors and staff or management at other federal agencies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. OPM Qualifications Standards are available at Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A). Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13. Specialized experience for this GS-14 position includes: Experience with the design, development, analysis, implementation and evaluation of multiple software and/or hardware systems, including cloud-based enterprise M365 solutions needing skills in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating complex projects across groups or teams. Experience in performing complex and in-depth technical analysis and multi-stage problem solving, including M365 admin and compliance centers and logs. Experience in collaboration platforms as well as customization, implementation and management of secure data, documents and videos sharing solutions. Experience in managing and supporting cloud data backup solution across an enterprise, supporting compliance, sensitivities, retention, and record schedules. Experience in emerging technologies, including advocating, planning, implementing new M365 features and support future applications to align with customers' business processes. The incumbent must possess the following Information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education At the GS-14 grade level, no substitution of experience for education is permitted.
