Job Details:
PurposeBuild and manage a team of system administrators and help desk personnel to plan, administer, maintain, implement and secure Linux, Windows and MacOS systems in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).
ResponsibilitiesFunctionally manage a team of information technology and cybersecurity technical staff to ensure all laboratory technical work is completed correctly and on schedule.
Oversee all planning, design, development, building, deployment, testing, monitoring, updates and maintenance of computer systems and equipment across various IT networks.
Provide oversight, guidance and develop mechanisms to ensure and maintain cybersecurity compliance requirements across ATL systems.
Provide technical assistance and expertise to staff performing daily administration of information security measures in compliance with security standards, NIST 800-171 and follow-on contractual requirements.
Provide general ATL staff with tools and procedures for the purpose of communicating with and utilizing IT staff services.
Maintain computer hardware/software inventories and security compliance records across ATL IT computer resources and infrastructure at multiple levels of DoD classification.
Plan for upgrades, growth and infrastructure needs. Other related functions as assigned.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.
Excellent team building and personnel management skills.
Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, tools, equipment and procedures used in maintaining IT networks.
Working knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) CyberSecurity accreditation process.
Knowledge of networking and computer security concepts.
Candidate will need to obtain a DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Certification (such as Security+) within 6 months of hire date.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, written and oral communication skills.
Must have a professional demeanor, be punctual and have the ability to work with little or no supervision.
Able to work under pressure and accept supervision.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with all groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.

Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
Ten or more years of experience in IT systems administration.
Experience with network and host-based security monitoring.
Experience with functional and/or project management of IT networks and staff.
Possess a current DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
Knowledge of system configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet.
Knowledge of shell scripting: Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby, or similar.
Knowledge of VMware virtualization management and practices.
Knowledge of source code management tools such as Mercurial or GIT.
Knowledge of database tools: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL or similar.
Knowledge of web programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, PHP.
Knowledge of web development content management tools: Django, Alfresco or similar.
