Summary This position is located in the Department of Technology Services (DTS), AO Technology Office (AOTO), User Technology Integration Division (UTID) in Washington, DC. Responsibilities Under the direction of AOTO Division Chief, the incumbent will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist with a strong background in problem solving skills. The incumbent will be the IT Solution Provider/senior engineer overseeing contractual IT professionals in the User Technology Integration Division. The incumbent will oversee, and review completed work of contractor personnel for effectiveness in meeting objectives, accuracy, compliance with Judiciary guidelines, and adherence to best practices. The incumbent will be responsible for engineering design decisions and successful execution of engineering tasks in AOTO-led projects. Additional responsibilities include performing multiple and varying assignments under the direction of the Division Chief and communicating complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel. The ideal candidate for this position will have proven experience in engineering and deploying IT solutions from concept to operations. They will possess strong technical and interpersonal skills, the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively with highly technical peers and non-technical customers, and the capability to manage and distribute workloads effectively. Duties will include but are not limited to: Design, implement and support solutions encompassing a broad spectrum of IT services that support end-user technology services, such as identity, credential and access management, integrated LAN management and network operations, unified endpoint management, endpoint and data security, file services, print services, remote access, unified communication and collaboration, business continuity and disaster recovery, and other offerings within the IT service management catalog. Act as the Service Delivery Manager for IT initiatives and projects, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to AO users. Responsibilities include staying current with industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies; developing and maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional teams; understanding user needs and proactively identifying opportunities for service improvement; and analyzing service delivery metrics and data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities. Foster innovation, modernization, and automation within the LAN infrastructure by advancing to contemporary services such as Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), zero trust architecture, cloud-hosted solutions in both private and public environments, and nationally managed hosted services. Define requirements and perform market research to support the preparation of procurement packages for acquiring products and services. Manage the remediation of security vulnerabilities to uphold compliance with Judiciary Security policies, while analyzing remediation metrics and processes to drive continuous improvement. Implement solutions following the systems development life cycle, from project initiation and requirements gathering through design, development, testing, and implementation, culminating in full deployment and transition to operations teams. This process incorporates best practices from the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Identify and interpret customer requirements for solutions and new services, serving as a bridge between the Engineering, Security, and Operations teams to translate these requirements into tangible outcomes. Supervise and monitor Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for end-users and systems, including problem reporting, resolution tracking, and performance analysis. Engage in the Information Technology Users' Group, serving as an Engineering representative addressing IT topics relevant to other AO departments. Use scripting languages to automate processes such as software installs, endpoint configuration changes, data collection from sources such as endpoints, active directory, and other applications and data manipulation for reporting. Qualifications Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in ALL of the following: Leading, providing, maintaining, and securing infrastructure solutions using industry best practices in alignment with ITIL v4 framework; Automating processes using scripting languages; Transitioning locally hosted IT services to cloud hosted environments, and Leading, providing, maintaining, and securing infrastructure solutions using industry best practices in alignment with ITIL v4 framework.
