Yes County Albany Street Address 1220 Washington Avenue City Albany State NY Zip Code 12226 Duties Description The incumbent will report to the Office of Counter Terrorism's (OCT) - Critical Infrastructure Unit. Duties include but are not limited to:• Perform cyber security and homeland security analysis which includes, but is not limited to, analysis of terrorist tactics and trends; infrastructure security trend analysis; program evaluation; fire, police, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) analysis; physical and cyber security risk analysis; threat analysis; physical and cyber security assessments, communications, public health or emergency management analysis; hazard analysis; or any other public safety analysis as appropriate.• Assess of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) infrastructure, which includes, working with internal and external partners, reviewing, evaluating, and commenting on physical and cyber safety and security plans and concepts; identification of vulnerabilities at fixed facilities; making recommendations to improve the security of facilities; and discovering potential failures.• Work with a multi-disciplinary team as well as developing and maintaining positive relationships with agency partners, including public and private sector entities.• Conduct comprehensive research on counter terrorism and cyber security trends at the state, federal and international levels. • Draft preliminary reports and recommendations based on gathered information.• Support and manage risk assessments as assigned.• Develop and review collection tools utilized to support fieldwork.• Support research, analysis, and writing activities as required.• Engage with and support security preparations for large events and mass gatherings.• Plan, organize, and conduct on-site assessments of selected assets and infrastructure.• Ensure equipment and data for the program is cared for and maintained appropriately.• Develop products as determined for each development in the planning phase and complete projects on-time.• Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain certifications to validate proficiency.• Work with sensitive information, requiring the ability to obtain a National Security Clearance.• Perform other duties as assigned.• Travel will be required (about 30%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.• Assignments may result in a change in working hours, locations, and/or duties. Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: bachelor’s degree* with at least 15 credit hours in cyber security, information assurance, or information technology. *Substitution: bachelor's degree candidates without at least 15 course credits in cyber security, information assurance, or information technology require one year of general information technology experience to qualify. Appropriate information security or information assurance experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year for-year basis; an associate's degree requires an additional two years of general information technology experience.
