Summary About the position: Assists the Force Support Squadron NAF IT Specialist in all matters relating to data systems and communication hardware/software applications used within 412 Force Support Squadron MWR activities. Responsibilities Assists the Force Support Squadron NAF IT Specialist in all matters relating to data systems and communication hardware/software applications used within 412 Force Support Squadron MWR activities. This includes, but not limited to, supporting programs in use within the organization using current versions of Microsoft Office and train personnel in their use. Install software and hardware and provide user training as required. Propose and advise the NAF IT Support Manager on hardware and software upgrades to keep pace with changing technologies. Provide technical support for commercial-off the shelf (COTS) applications and or legacy systems, such as, Services' Employee Timekeeping System (SETS), point of sale (PoS) systems, and current versions of Microsoft Operating systems, anti-virus software, and network email and storage. Assists in the installation and implementation of new computer systems Assists with risk analysis documentation Develops operating instructions; and provides technical assistance to Force Support Squadron computer users. Assists in turning in outdated ADPE equipment to DRMO and/or NAF sales. Serves as Computer Support Administrator (CSA). PXE imaging of PCs and laptops. Must have knowledge of current COTS hardware, software and operating systems to be able to make well informed recommendations for the purchase of new equipment and to actively participate in the source selection process.
