Summary This position is located within the Fort Riley Support Services Division- IT Services. This position is currently available to be on the Garrison Resiliency Day Off (RDO) schedule and is eligible for the NAF benefits and leave accrual. Responsibilities Under the lead of a full performance specialist, performs highly structured, entry-level work designed to develop broader and more in-depth knowledge and skills needed to perform higher-level assignments. Assignments include, delivery of Information Technology customer support services, including system hardware/software installations, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements. Communicates factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing. Gathers and analyzes basic facts and draws conclusions. Uses established industry practices, procedures or policies to determine the most appropriate approach to problem resolution. Applies information security/information assurance policy, principles and practices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Work experience, education, and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Information Technology (IT) principles, concepts and methods as well as skill in applying basic IT principles and practices in: -Performing highly structured, entry level work designed to develop broader and more in-depth knowledge and skill needed to perform higher level assignments; -Communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing, -Gathering and analyzing basic facts and drawing conclusions. -Data storage, software applications and networking. * Experience must be clearly stated in resume and education and/or other applicable supporting documentation must be uploaded at time of application in order to be considered. Highly preferred criteria: Applicants meeting highly preferred criteria will be referred to management first.(Any experience that meets the Highly Preferred Criteria, must be reflected in your resume to receive credit). Highly preferred is defined as having met ALL of the following criteria: Possess CompTIA A+ certification and ability to gain CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days of coming on-board. Minimum of one year experience with hardware/software security best practices (patches, security updates, etc.), AND networking (LAN and wireless). 1 year experience in IT diagnosing/troubleshooting (CPU, monitors, printers, etc.) ** Experience must be clearly stated in resume and any applicable certificates must be uploaded at time of application in order to be considered as highly preferred. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
