Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information Technology, Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations Directorate, located in Lorton, VA. Responsibilities Joining Customs and Border Protection, Office Information and Technology will allow you to use your expertise in Information Technology (IT) principles, concepts and methods to support IT systems and services. This position starts at a salary of $120,579.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $156,755.00 (GS-13, Step 10). In this Information Technology (IT) Specialist (Security) position, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing security programs for the agency. Major duties of this position include: Implementing Incident Command & Control for emergency operations, supports mission critical interoperable and secure communications capabilities during Federal Emergencies, National Level exercises and other similar types of events. Translating up-to-date information into continuous improvement activities that enhance performance. Identifying policy needs and develops documents to govern division or organization level IT activities. Maintaining and managing various Business Continuity plans; assesses policy needs and develops documents to govern division or organization level IT activities; provides policy guidance to management, staff, and customers. Diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents. Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Along with the four competencies listed above you must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience described below to qualify based on experience. Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Employing project management and incident management principles and methods. Developing, documenting, maintaining and implementing Continuity of Operations Procedures (COOP) and Occupancy Emergency Plans (OEPs). Designing and testing Disaster Recover (DR) procedures for Mission and Non-Mission Essential Systems and mission essential functions. Performing risk and vulnerability assessments to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
