Summary The Senior Solution Architect position is located in the Department of Program Services (DPS), Case Management Systems Office (CMSO), Federal Judiciary Digital Services Division (FJDS). The CMSO develops and maintains case management and related systems for federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy court judges and staff, probation and pretrial services officers, federal defenders, and external stakeholders. Responsibilities This Senior Solution Architect reports to the Case Management Systems Office (CMSO)'s Chief Solutions Architect and provides leadership and architectural direction to the Federal Judiciary Digital Services (FJDS) Division's application portfolio. This Senior Solution Architect identifies developing, designing, and implements architecture and technical roadmaps, standards, policies, and procedures for all of the division's supported applications. The incumbent researches new technologies, products, and standards. This is a hands-on position and requires working with internal teams and stakeholders, administrative staff, the courts, and court support teams from both a technical and business perspective. This position, while not supervisory, requires technology leadership capabilities to drive teams of other architects and developers, particularly vendors, in understanding and implementing best practices. The duties of the position may include, but are not limited to: Working with other enterprise, cloud, data, and solution architects to implement a new cloud-based enterprise compute platform. Developing and implementing requirements and appropriate design patterns that satisfy the needs of the various system components. Leading the exploration of alternate design choices, particularly in, Loud and other third party technology stacks and solutions. Driving innovation across development teams by developing best practices and innovative approaches using modern cloud strategies. Collaborating with technical and business subject matter experts to develop implementation strategies enabling the optimal use of modern cloud tools and platforms. Working with other enterprise architects across the Judiciary to develop best practices, methods, and standards needed to run a world-class cloud system. Qualifications Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in performing application architecture activities in an open-source model leveraging cloud services, and defining and enforcing pre-defined architecture and best practices for large-scale, high-volume web-based and mobile applications.
