Information Technology Technician JobID: 5912 + Position Type: Technology Support/ IT: Technician + Date Posted: 9/13/2024 + Location: Central Office    Windham Public Schools is seeking a desktop specialist technician - tier 1 support to fill an immediate vacancy. This is a year-round position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, which includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the technician will support the goals of the technology department by maintaining systems, peripherals, and applications. The technician will support users through multiple support channels and training opportunities. We invite applicants to join a team of exemplary teachers, administrators, and support staff working to shape an exciting time in the Windham community Qualifications: Applicants should possess 2 (two) years of experience supporting Windows and ChromeOS-based systems in a networked environment or an incredible desire to learn and grow in the field. Experience with Google Apps, Chromebooks, and relevant certifications is a plus. Must have A+ certification or be willing to complete it within the first year of employment. A valid CT driver's license and dependable transportation are required as the successful candidate will be servicing multiple school buildings. Duties will include: + Provide tier 1 support to service break/fix incidents + Deploy desktop hardware and software + Produce technical aids (such as how-to videos, reference documents, etc.) + Provide faculty/staff training in technology utilization + Provide configuration change recommendations + Setting up equipment + Record board meetings. + General troubleshooting for all technology-related issues including: + Smartboards + Chromebooks + Office Suite + Printing issues + Etc. + And other duties assigned.
